This post is for those who are working on Amazon Kindle. I use the below tools to find the keywords to run inside Amazon Ads. I would love to know how other authors/publishers go about finding the keywords.
1. Google Keyword Planner
You will need the Google Ads account, but don’t worry. You don’t need to pay anything to use it.
I enter the main keyword related to my book and get the list of all searched queries related to the keyword. Then, I export the list.
2. AMZ Suggestion Expander
It’s a Chrome extension. The free version will do the job well. After installing the extension:
- Go to the search bar of Amazon.
- Select Books / Kindle / Audio Books categories.
- Type your keyword, and it will return all the searched queries on Amazon.
You will need to take a screenshot and type the keywords manually into your spreadsheet. But, if you are a bit technical and know about Inspect Element and Regular Expressions, you will be able to copy them quickly.
3. Helium 10
Helium 10 is excellent for finding the keywords your competitors are ranked in. It’s costly, but the free version gives two searches per day with limited keywords.
4. Publisher Rocket
One-time cost. I like it because you can easily search for categories related to your niche and send them to Amazon after the book is published to include your book in additional categories. It also gives you the keywords associated with the main keyword and more.
After we have the keywords, it’s time to find which keywords have earning potential with low competition. KDSPY tool, which is also a one-time cost, can be used for this purpose.
What tools/strategies do you use to find keywords?
